Pixel Brite / Media Server

Install Media Server.

Stream movies, shows, and music. Choose a platform, then add folders or import from Plex or Jellyfin.

Install

Open the DMG, drag Pixel Brite Media Server to Applications, then open it from Applications.

First run

The app installs and starts its login service, then opens browser setup. Create the owner account and add your media folders.

Update and uninstall

Update

Open Settings > About in Pixel Brite. Prepare the offered update, then choose Restart & Apply.

Uninstall

Use the Pixel Brite menu-bar icon and choose Uninstall Pixel Brite. Removing only the app preserves library settings and metadata.

Port 6262. Read access to your media. Internet access for metadata, artwork, downloads, and remote access.

Import from Plex or Jellyfin.

  1. Install and sign in. Open Settings → Import as the server owner.
  2. Select the source. Choose a detected database or browse to its database file or data folder.
  3. Review and import. Select libraries and a profile for watch history. Review matches and playlists before saving.

Pixel Brite leaves the source database and original media untouched.

Playlist import details

Manual playlists are supported, up to 100 playlists and 1,000 items each. Smart playlist rules are not active in Pixel Brite. The import reports items that need attention.
