Your library stays on your server.

This Privacy Policy explains how Wabi Sabi Ware ("we," "us," or "Pixel Brite") processes information when you use the Pixel Brite website, software, downloads, catalog services, artwork services, remote connectivity, and support. It also explains the boundary between those services and a Pixel Brite server operated by you or someone who gives you access.

1. Scope and responsibility

This policy applies to information controlled by Wabi Sabi Ware. If you run a Pixel Brite server, you are responsible for the data on it and for deciding who may use it. If you use another person's server, that server operator—not Wabi Sabi Ware—controls your account and activity on that server.

2. Information stored on a self-hosted server

Depending on how the server is configured, Pixel Brite may store or process:

• media file names, paths, technical details, embedded metadata, artwork, and library organization;
• account identifiers, credentials or password hashes, roles, invitations, trusted devices, and active sessions;
• watch history, playback position, favorites, preferences, and other library activity;
• server settings, storage locations, network configuration, diagnostic logs, and backup data; and
• sharing, pairing, and remote-access information configured by the server operator.

This data remains under the server operator's control. Removing an account, history, or library from one server does not change data on another server, in a backup, or in storage managed separately by the operator.

3. Information processed by Pixel Brite-operated services

Website, downloads, and updates

Our hosting, content-delivery, and security providers may process ordinary request information such as IP address, date and time, requested URL, referring page, user agent, device or browser type, download activity, and security events. We use this information to deliver the site and software, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and understand aggregate service reliability.

Catalog matching, metadata, and artwork

When enabled, a Pixel Brite server sends the catalog service information needed to identify media. This can include file names, file paths, media-type hints, titles, years, editions, technical metadata, and existing identifiers. A file name or path may itself contain information chosen by the server operator. The service returns matches, descriptions, credits, and artwork. It does not receive the media file for catalog matching.

Remote connectivity and relays

Remote connections may use Pixel Brite-operated relay infrastructure when a direct connection is unavailable. Relay infrastructure processes network addresses, connection timing, traffic volume, protocol information, and other routing data needed to establish, secure, troubleshoot, and protect the connection. Relayed media travels through encrypted transport; the relay is not a hosted copy of your library.

Support

When you contact support, we process the contact details, description, attachments, diagnostics, and correspondence you choose to send. Do not send media files, passwords, access tokens, or unrelated personal information unless we specifically request information needed to investigate your case.

4. How we use information

We use information controlled by Wabi Sabi Ware to:

• deliver, secure, maintain, and improve Pixel Brite services;
• provide catalog matches, metadata, artwork, downloads, updates, and remote connectivity;
• respond to support requests and communicate about service or security issues;
• detect fraud, abuse, attacks, and violations of applicable terms; and
• comply with law and protect users, Wabi Sabi Ware, and the public.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of a contract, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service, consent where requested, and compliance with legal obligations.

5. Cookies, tokens, and local storage

Pixel Brite does not use advertising cookies or cross-site behavioral tracking. The website or web app may use cookies, browser storage, or authentication tokens that are necessary to keep a session signed in, remember a preference, protect a request, or connect to the server selected by the user. A server operator may place Pixel Brite behind additional services with their own cookie and privacy practices.

6. When information is shared

We may disclose information controlled by Wabi Sabi Ware:

• to infrastructure, hosting, content-delivery, object-storage, relay, email, and support providers that process it for us;
• when a user or server operator directs or authorizes the disclosure;
• when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, or a valid governmental request, or to protect rights, safety, and service integrity; or
• as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality and notice requirements.

We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use media-library data to build advertising profiles.

7. Retention

Data on a self-hosted server remains there until the server operator changes or removes it, subject to that operator's backups and retention practices. For data we control, we retain operational records only as long as reasonably necessary for service delivery, security, troubleshooting, legal obligations, and dispute resolution. Support correspondence may be retained to resolve the request, preserve an accurate support history, and meet legal requirements.

8. Your choices and privacy rights

You can disable optional catalog or remote features, stop using Pixel Brite-operated services, clear browser data, or ask your server operator to change server-local account and activity data. Requests concerning information on someone else's server must go to that server operator.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or obtain a portable copy of personal information that Wabi Sabi Ware controls, and to appeal a denied request. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where the law permits or requires it. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information we control. No system or transmission method is completely secure. Server operators are responsible for software updates, account security, storage permissions, network exposure, backups, and physical access to their own systems.

10. International processing

Wabi Sabi Ware and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we use lawful safeguards for international transfers.

11. Children

Pixel Brite is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information through services we control. A parent, guardian, or server operator who creates a managed or family account is responsible for that account and the media made available to it. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information directly to Wabi Sabi Ware.

12. Other services

Pixel Brite may link to third-party websites or use services selected by a server operator. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. This policy does not cover software, proxies, identity providers, storage, DNS, or other infrastructure added by an operator.

13. Changes to this policy

Pixel Brite does not hold a hosted copy of your library, and a policy update does not change that boundary. If we change how Pixel Brite-operated services process the limited information they receive, we will update this policy and its effective date and provide additional notice when required by law.
