Effective July 17, 2026
This Pixel Brite License Agreement (the "Agreement") is between you and Wabi Sabi Ware LLC ("Wabi Sabi Ware," "we," or "us"). It governs your installation and use of Pixel Brite Media Server, its bundled components, documentation, updates, and Pixel Brite-operated services made available with it.
This Agreement licenses the Pixel Brite software. It does not claim ownership of your media or the accounts, watch history, settings, backups, and logs stored on your server.
1. Acceptance and authority
You accept this Agreement when you select the acceptance option, install Pixel Brite, or run Pixel Brite Media Server. If you accept on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization. If you do not agree, do not install or run Pixel Brite.
2. License to use Pixel Brite
Subject to this Agreement, Wabi Sabi Ware grants you a limited, non-exclusive license to install and run Pixel Brite Media Server on hardware you own or control. You may operate more than one server and allow people you authorize to use those servers.
This is a license to use the software, not a sale or transfer of ownership. Except where applicable law gives you a right that cannot be restricted, you may not:
- sell, sublicense, publish, or redistribute Pixel Brite or its proprietary components;
- offer Pixel Brite itself as a hosted, managed, or public streaming service;
- remove copyright, trademark, attribution, or license notices; or
- use Pixel Brite-operated infrastructure to attack systems, evade access controls, distribute malware, or interfere with other users.
3. Your media and your responsibilities
You decide which media, accounts, services, networks, storage, and devices Pixel Brite may use. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions required to add, import, stream, or share media and for complying with applicable law, service terms, and third-party rights.
You are also responsible for the server and storage you operate, including user access, credentials, network exposure, software updates, backups, and physical security. Pixel Brite does not make unauthorized media lawful and does not replace a backup.
4. Self-hosted operation and server data
Pixel Brite runs on hardware and storage controlled by you or another server operator. Availability, capacity, performance, backups, and local or remote access depend on that setup.
Wabi Sabi Ware does not host your Pixel Brite library and has no access to data stored on your server. We cannot read, export, correct, or delete that server-local data. The server operator—not Wabi Sabi Ware—controls the media, accounts, watch history, settings, access rules, backups, and logs on that server.
5. Pixel Brite-operated services
Pixel Brite may connect to services operated for catalog matching, metadata, artwork, downloads, updates, remote connectivity, relays, and support. Those services process only the information needed for their functions, as described in the Pixel Brite Privacy Policy.
You must not probe, overload, scrape, resell, or abuse those services, bypass their technical limits, or use relay infrastructure as a general-purpose proxy. We may limit or suspend access needed to protect the services, other users, or the public.
6. Ownership and reserved rights
Pixel Brite, its proprietary software, documentation, branding, and original site content are owned by Wabi Sabi Ware or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Wabi Sabi Ware and its licensors reserve all rights not expressly granted by this Agreement.
Your media remains yours. This Agreement does not give Wabi Sabi Ware ownership of media files or server-local data merely because Pixel Brite organizes or plays them.
7. Third-party components and content
Pixel Brite includes or works with open-source software, codecs, metadata, artwork, and other third-party components or content. Those materials remain subject to their own licenses, notices, and terms. If a third-party license grants rights that conflict with this Agreement, that license controls for the applicable third-party component.
Third-party services and content may change, become unavailable, or impose their own geographic, account, or usage restrictions. Wabi Sabi Ware does not control those third parties.
8. Software changes
Features, file compatibility, data formats, interfaces, and service integrations may change between releases. Software may contain defects or incomplete behavior and should not be your only copy of important data.
Future releases, features, support, or Pixel Brite-operated services may be offered separately and subject to additional terms. If charges apply, the price and material terms will be presented for your agreement before any charge is made.
9. Updates and supported builds
Pixel Brite builds may have support deadlines. An outdated build may stop receiving fixes or become unable to use downloads, updates, catalog, artwork, relay, or other operated services. You are responsible for updating before the installed build reaches its stated support deadline.
An update may add, remove, or change functionality when needed for compatibility, security, legal compliance, or continued operation. We do not promise that every feature, integration, host, file, network, or device will remain supported indefinitely.
10. Suspension and termination
This license ends if you materially breach this Agreement and do not cure the breach after notice when a cure is reasonably possible. When the license ends, you must stop using and remove the proprietary Pixel Brite software.
Ending this license does not give Wabi Sabi Ware access to your server and does not transfer or erase your media or server-local data. You remain responsible for that data, its storage, and any backups.
11. No warranty
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pixel Brite and Pixel Brite-operated services are provided "as is" and "as available." Wabi Sabi Ware disclaims express, implied, and statutory warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, uninterrupted operation, and compatibility with every host, file, network, or device.
Nothing in this Agreement excludes a warranty, remedy, or consumer right that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Wabi Sabi Ware and its licensors, contributors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost opportunities, loss of use, or loss or corruption of data arising from Pixel Brite or Pixel Brite-operated services.
This limitation does not apply where applicable law does not allow it and does not limit liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
13. Changes to this Agreement
We may update this Agreement for future Pixel Brite releases as the software and operated services change. The revised agreement will show a new effective date. A revision does not change the terms for software you already installed unless you accept the revised agreement or applicable law requires otherwise. A later release may require acceptance of the agreement then in effect.
